World AIDS Day is held on 1 December each year and is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died. World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day and the first one was held in 1988.
The Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) are holding an event for World Aids Day on Saturday 1st December at The Old School, Blakenhall between 6:30pm and 8:30pm. This event is open to the whole community, but spaces are limited so those looking to attend should call 0121 694 6440 to book a place.
It is a commemorative event and the evening will include speeches from Jackie Redding, THT Service Director and people living with HIV and there will be music and refreshments, together with stalls for service providers. Terrence Higgins Trust staff will also answer any questions regarding HIV or sexual health.
