The Courts have overturned a decision by Liverpool City Council not to license the Peugeot E7 taxi.

A wheelchair user brought a case against them after they refused to license it. The wheelchair users case was that the Peugeot was more comfortable and safer for wheelchair users than the TX2 being licesned by Liverpool. The E7 is currently licensed to operate in more than 400 authorities throughout the country.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission argued that the Council’s decision discriminated against disabled people, and that a proper Equality Impact assessment was not carried out.

The Court agreed.
