rainbow Friday posterJoin with organisations across Wolverhampton on Rainbow Friday’, 27th February, to raise awareness of the LGBT community and the end of history month.

Get on your brightly coloured glad rags, and wear a rainbow or any colours of the rainbow, to show your colourful support for LGBT equality.

If you want to help the work of LGBT Network Wolverhampton and fight homophobia, why not make a donation. we will be collecting at the One Voice office, or you can give money direct to LGBT Network Wolverhampton.

LGBT Network Wolverhampton offers a range of support for local LGBT people, will your organisation/team wear a colour of the rainbow on ‘Rainbow Friday’, 27th February? Will you help us to raise awareness and maybe even a little cash? Please see attached poster.

February is LGBT History Month in the UK, to coincide with the celebration in 2003 of the abolition of Section 28. The overall aim is to promote LGBT equality and celebrate diversity. Despite lots of progress, there is still more work to be done. Sadly many LGBT people still suffer from homo/bi/transphobia Hate crimes, over 50% of young LGBT people are bullied and some young people become homeless due to their sexuality or gender identity. It’s no wonder there are still much higher rates of mental health issues for LGBT people. Hopefully the more we raise awareness, the more we combat discrimination.
