The DWP have been forced to put back the reassessment of DLA claimants for at least 3 weeks. They have had to lay emergency regulations before parliament today to give them 3 extra weeks before they start reassessing people on DLA high rate mobility for PIPs.

The delay is a result of a judicial review brought by disabled groups which pushed the Government into a further consultation.e

At issue is the harsh changes to mobility criteria which mean that a plerson can only get high rate mobility if they can only walk 20m before the onset of severe discomfort. Previously the limit was 50m.
