lbgtPlease email or write to your MP to tell him/her why it is important to support equal marriage and civil partnerships.

The Government has finally published its Same Sex Couples Marriage Bill today. Here is the link http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/cbill/2012-2013/0126/2013126.pdf?dm_i=FBX,18SFD,3VW15U,47LLQ,

Both civil marriages and civil partnerships should be open to all couples without any discrimination. If we want true equality, civil partnerships should also be an option for heterosexual people.

Unfortunately there has been much opposition to these proposals; including same-sex relationships compared bestiality and child abuse. It is vital for us, as supporters of equal marriage to make their voices heard now.

MPs will get the chance to vote on the Bill  Tuesday 5th February.  Make sure our voices are heard above the ignorance and discrimination.

An example of what you might say:

In a democratic society everyone should have equal rights in law. It is discriminatory not to allow the same rights to a couple in love; no matter what their sexual orientation.

I urge you to support full equality in civil marriage and civil partnership law to ensure a fairer country for all of us.

Will you be voting in favour of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill on 5 February, 2013.
