Volunteer Opportunities on the Day
From 10.00am the area will be set up, to include; a stage, market stalls, temporary toilets, fencing, bunting, health and wellbeing stands, tables, chairs, fairground rides, catering, marquees, waste points etc. If you are fit and strong and are happy to carry things, put up marquees etc., as well as being an early riser then this
could be the job for you!
From 11.30am – 1.00pm the preparation for the parade will take place, people walking in the parade will be arriving, they need checking in and allocating a number – we need a support person to work with the chief marshals to make sure we cover everything.
From 1.00pm – 1.30pm – We need a few people to stay behind and oversee the gated area whilst the parade is taking place.
From12.30 – 1.30pm, we need parade marshals to help organise the parade walkers and walk alongside the parade, safety briefing and guidelines will be provided, as well as a high-viz waistcoat! We have lots of interest for the parade, as the numbers grow we need more marshals, as we need someone every 3 metres either side of the walkers.
From 12noon through to 5/6.00pm, we need people to staff the admin point, be on the entrance/exit points with a security person, look after the LGBT community stalls, litter pick, look after other volunteers and more etc. If you could help for an hour or two it would really help.
The main stage, catering and fair ground rides will go on until 9pm and 10pm respectively, we need volunteers all the way through to the clear up and dismantle fences at 11pm.
Whatever time you can spare we have a job for you
If you can help in any way contact LGBT Wolverhampton on 01902 425 092 or email info@wolvespride.co.uk

Join the Parade!
Let’s make 2014 our biggest, most colourful Parade yet! We want it to be a proud and visible stand for diversity & equality and to show that prejudice has no place in Wolverhampton.
Our Patron Peter Tatchell will be leading the parade through the heart of the City Centre and for the first time both the Parade and Pride will be happening on a Saturday. Gather for the Parade on Fold Street Car Park at 12noon.
Individuals: Please register to join the parade, if you register for the Parade and turn up for it you will get free access to the PRIDE area. Email info@wolvespride.co.uk to register.
Community groups: This day is a celebration of all things LGBT, to showcase what LGBT groups do and to welcome those who offer support and services to the LGB and T community. If you’re involved with an LGBT group, don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your group. Walk with us in the Parade and then there will be space to display your materials and to talk with visitors about you and your group.
Please contact us info@wolvespride.co.uk about the Parade and to talk about a community stall.

Mind Out – next meeting on Wednesday 20th August
Mind Out is a mental health peer support group for lesbians,
gay men, bisexual and transgender people.
Studies have shown that LGB&T* people are more likely to
have experience of mental health issues, suicidal thoughts
and self-harm, this is because many LGB&T* people still
encounter prejudice, stigma and discrimination in their day-today
living. This group is a place for people to gain and offer
support to each other in a safe and supportive environment.
People can share their experiences, problems and stories with
each other. It is an open group so you can just drop-in and say hello.
