As part of Wolverhampton’s celebration of LGBT history month, Wolverhampton City Council is running 3 free sessions at the Art Gallery

Wednesday 12th February LGBT voices in history – this session takes a fascinating look at history using local archive material. With guest speakers and original material and images, we compare past and present to see the politics, experience, humour,
sadness and struggle of LGBT people in history. Moving, funny and interesting, this session lets you see our region in a totally different way.
Wednesday 19 February Polari: learning the lost Gay language – a fun interactive session exploring language. Together we will practice speaking and writing in the language of Polari, a brilliant, fun and fruity romp through language and expression.
Some words you’ll recognise others will be new, but together and combined with our LGBT themed paintings in the gallery it will make a memorable evening of fun.
Wednesday 26 February Keeping secure: an LGBT personal safety guide. Learn best practice and ways to keep safe and secure today.
Spaces will be limited and as they are drop in sessions they may fill up quickly. All sessions are 6.00pm -7.30pm.
