Launch and Networking Event – Mapping My Journey

Gender Matters would like to invite you to the launch of an exciting new project called ‘Mapping My Journey’. We have been awarded Heritage Lottery Funding to capture the stories of 20 trans people, culminating in an exhibition in 2014. The project aims to research, collate and celebrate the personal – living memory – history of the Trans Community.
About Gender Matters
-support to people who consider themselves to be Trans: Transgender, Gender Variant, Gender Queer, Cross Dresser, Transvestite or any other non-standard gender identity.
-training and consultancy for employers, the public sector, service providers and commissioners.
-Advice on equality and employment law.
Come along to find out more about Gender Matters, learn more about the trans community and our current projects; including ‘Mapping My Journey’.
We would like to bring together local public and third sector organisations and members of the trans community to raise awareness of our work and celebrate our successes.
We are pleased to confirm that GIRES (Gender Identity Research and Education Society) will deliver the keynote speech and members of the trans community will be telling their stories.
The event will begin at 1.30 and we hope that you will join us for our networking reception which will begin 4.30 where a light buffet will be provided in the Arena Bar.
