The Government’s claims to fairness and choice are being put under greater strain by their decision to end the Independent Living Fund (ILF) – a fund which has, since 1988 allowed 20,000 disabled people with high support needs to live independently.

The Government has announced that the fund is to close in 2015 – with no indication of what will happen to disabled people who are currently able to live in the community only because of the support they recieve from IL
