  • Dance with Billy Read and Def Motion Dance Company
Billy Read is a deaf artist and dancer born and raised in Walsall. After leaving Alumwell Junior school, Billy attended a grammar school for the deaf in Berkshire, where he discovered his musical talent in drumming and eventually in dance, becoming a self-taught Michael Jackson impersonator. After studying dance at Wolverhampton University, Billy set up the all-deaf dance crew Def Motion in 2011, based in Wolverhampton. Since then Def Motion have enjoyed much success touring the UK, performing live shows and delivering dance workshops in street dance styles for young people both deaf and hearing.
