The Government’s job website – Universal Jobmatch is to be retired. After repeated criticisms on tv documentaries and in the press, the Government has decided to put it out of its misery.
The site has been criticised for including jobs that don’t exist, from companies that dont exist, as well as listing some jobs several times, and trying to get claimants to pay money to apply for jobs.
This site is the one that the DWP has forced claimants to use as part of their jobsearch in order to get benefit.
It appears that no apology for the wasting of jobseekers’ time and hopes has been forthcoming, but it does raise the question of just what priority the Government are willing to give to their much repeated aim of ensuring that we are a nation of employed hard-working people.
