Many people will have seen judo at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, It is an exciting sport, where a split-second can mean victory or defeat as athletes aiming to score the ultimate ippon. Scores can be registered for throws or holding techniques, whilst penalties are given to the athletes for breaking rules.
All those who take part for more than four weeks get a free judo suit, gradings and record book. All worth over £100 each if you had to buy it!! If the course is successful our long term goal is to set up a Visually Impaired Judo Club here at the Beacon Centre.
The sessions will take place every Thursday for 8 weeks from 21st August at 2pm in Beacon’s Recreation room.
