swimActiveyes and Beacon Centre are offering adults aged 19 – 25 the opportunity of free swimming lessons.

The aim of the lessons are to find people with a visual impairment who want to learn to swim along with those who have lost their confidence and don’t feel safe in accessing public swimming sessions.

The lessons will be held at the Bert Williams leisure Centre in Bilston and it will be an 8 week course with a 1 hour lesson each week

All the sessions are free of charge and each participant will be entitled to £6 towards travel expenses per session.

Swimmers of all abilities are welcome but they must be aged 19 -25 and have a visual impairment.

There is no set date to start until we can obtain enough participants, we have a target of 10. The long term goal is to channel the participants into our regular Activeyes swimming groups after the lessons have finished.

If you know of anyone who would be interested or you would like a poster to advertise then please get in touch with me.
