The Office for Disability issues and the Department of Works & Pensions produce a document that brings together all the stats to do with disability and disabled people. The summary document was published in January this year,

The stats come from a variety of sources and cover the following categories:

  • general demographics
  • living standards
  • employment
  • education
  • post-19 education
  • independent living
  • discrimination
  • leisure, social and cultural activities
  • civic involvement and volunteering
  • transport
  • communications
  • justice system
  • housing
  • disability equality indicators

Did you know, for example, that 19% of individuals in families with at least one disabled member live in relative income poverty, on a before housing costs basis, compared to 15% of individuals in families with no disabled member.

Or that  1 in 3 households with a disabled person still live in non-decent accommodation, according th the English house Condition Survey.

The document is updated as new disability-related surveys are published.
