Can you help?
As many of you know, our funding is significantly reducing in February. We are grateful to have received a 3 year contract from Wolverhampton City Council that covered the basic overheads to run the centre and my salary, this ends in February. My salary is safe for one more year. We need a minimum of £13,000, to cover our core running costs such as rent, utilities, insurance, volunteer expenses and office costs. We keep these costs as low as we possibly can. I realise many people are sadly unemployed and many who are working are struggling financially, but just in case you can help, could you afford to give us £3 per month? If we can all afford just a few pounds a month we can continue to provide our services.
4 people this year have told us they have not committed suicide due to our support, With 50 – 100 visits to our centre every week, from local LGB and T people seeking support, we need to raise enough money to keep the centre open.
1,200 people used our services in 2012/13, the numbers continue to grow. As you know we also organise Wolverhampton and Black Country PRIDE, helping to raise awareness of the LGBT community, contributing to ending discrimination based on sexuality and gender identity.
We are very fortunate to have an incredible team of over 50 volunteers that are passionate about being here for those that need us, but we need money to cover the essentials. With your help we can continue to do this.
If you can help, thank you so much, please complete and return the standing order form attached.
