Talking Book Club Friday 27th June

Beacon Centre 11.00am

Come along to our first talking book club here at the Beacon, this is going be a monthly meeting where you will have the opportunity to find out about different ways you can access and listen to audio books. Then as a group we will decide on a book to listen to and discuss at the next meeting.


 Activeyes allotment

Are you interested in growing your own veg or flowers? Come along to our allotment and see if you have green fingers.

We meet at Boundary Way Allotments in Penn, for more information please get in touch, a friendly welcome and a cuppa are always guaranteed.

  Golf Lessons

The last of our Free Golf Lessons will take place on Friday 9th May, we would like to say a Big Thanks to all the guys at Sedgley Golf Centre for giving us this fantastic opportunity.

We meet outside the tearooms, the walk is suitable for all and lasts approx one hour. Afterwards we stop for light refreshments.


Bumble Hole Walk Thursday 22nd May 11.15am

Bumble Hole Nature Reserve, Netherton,

 Meeting at Halesowen Road/Washington Street bus stop which is serviced by the 244 & 243 buses every 20 minutes. The walk time is approx 1.5 hrs and follows the local canal routes.

Activeyes is teaming up with the British Judo Association to give you the exciting opportunity to try the sport of Judo.
Judo has a strong tradition in Britain as a sport for the visually   impaired and has been very successful at the Paralympics.
We are going to hold a taster session at Beacon for you to come and give Judo a go and find out more about the sport.

Narrowboat Trip Saturday 31st May 10.45am,

Ceeders Club, Castlecroft Lane

 Want a relaxing afternoon cruising on a Narrowboat or try your hand at navigating the canal, then join us for what promises to be a great day out, we will stop off for fish and chips at lunch time and return at approx 4.00pm.

The trip costs £6 and places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.


Aston Villa All Stars VS Beacon Centre Charity Football Match, Sunday 18th May

National Express have kindly given us the use of a 73 seater coach to transport people to and from the charity football match at Hednesford Town FC on Sunday 18 May.

Seats are FREE but MUST be booked with Jo Field in

Fundraising. They are available on a first come first basis. It will be leaving the Beacon Centre at around 12.15 – 30pm to get to Hednesford for 1.30pm when the family fun day starts.
