Join us for what will be the last of our free Bowling sessions, we are now
taking names of those interested in setting up a team to take part in the
National Blind Ten Pin Bowling League. The league starts in the
summer and we want to use the time between now and them for any
potential players to practise and get to know each other.

‘DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT’

This is a programme we have introduced for 2015 so that you can chart
your ActivEyes achievements. By doing something different you not
only get to challenge yourself but you can have the opportunities to
meet like minded people to share in many new experiences.
How about making 2015 the year you try
Water Skiing? Parachute Jumping? Rock Climbing? Growing your own
Vegetables? Fitness? Learn to sing, Learn to dance?
Play an instrument? Meet a Mate? Swimming? Drama?
Learn a Language? Theatre Group? Cooking? Audio Transmissions?
Pretty much anything is achievable if you try!!
At the end of the year we will be looking at the activities you’ve
completed and we will be celebrating your achievements at our
ActivEyes Gala Evening where we will be presenting a variety of new
awards to those of you who have taken part.

Living with Sight Loss Course
6 week course starting 19th February
Thursdays 10.30am-3.00pm at Beacon Centre
ActivEyes is teaming up with Action for Blind People for those
diagnosed with sight loss, helping to address the emotional impact of
sight loss and increase confidence levels.
The course provides the opportunity to discuss the challenges sight loss
presents with people who have been through it and are tailored to each
group of attendees but the core elements are:
· Getting out and making the most of your leisure time
· Coping strategies designed to address the emotional aspects of visual
impairment
· Practical solutions to overcome challenges to everyday living
· Using technology
· Looking after your eyes and skills for making the most of your vision.
