‘DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT’
During February we are planning to refurbish our allotment plot at
Boundary Way Allotments Boundary Way, Warstones Wolverhampton
Week commencing Monday 2nd February we need your help to take up the existing slabs and relay them at the rear of the plot as a new base for the shed. We are also hoping to erect two new raised beds in that week. The following week, Monday 9th February we are looking forward to taking delivery of the new slabs donated directly from BS Eaton the long established manufacturers of concrete products in
Cheslyn Hay. These new slabs will form the basis of the unique footprint that will help visually impaired allotmenteers independently navigate their way safely around the allotment plot. With your help we will continue to lay the slabs during that week and follow on week commencing Monday 16th February to complete the project with top soil and the 1st planting of the year.
In June 2015, its our aim to show our entry ’Thyme for Tea’ in the BBC Gardeners live show at the NEC.
With renewed vigour and enthusiasm we intend to show that growing your own fruit and vegetables for better eye health will provide many more benefits for the whole body both inside and out.
As part of this bigger health and well being picture we hope many more of you will actively get involved with this project, starting a get fit and grow your own regime and also joining in with our ‘cook your own’ for better health, due to start in the spring. Please contact Mandy on 07807 128923 or 01902 880111 for more information on how to join in.
