Hi Lance, Evidence shows us that gay, lesbian and transgenedered people are also more likely to be victims of a hate crime. Belittling people who are different from us helps to make the climate fertile for hate to take place and then that a few steps away from saying - these people are "less than" so it doesn't matter if someone bullies them, spits on them, calls them names or hurts them.
All hate crimes are wrong.
we talk about hate crimes against disabled people on our blog because we are an organisation of disabled people, not because we think hate against any other group is okay.
I like your idea about love and protection and i think it should apply to all people whether they are different from us or not.

Abusing disabled should be a hate crime in every country. It takes a special kind of sick person to take advantage of an individual with a disablity. If men who dress up as women and girls who like girls have protection under hate crime laws, it's time we recognize people with disability's have civil rights to be from abuse, neglect and hateful acts. It amazes me that in all these teaching tolerance classes and seminars, you seldom, if ever hear teachers teaching about tolerating people with diasblities! Yet, we're told to love all the men who dress up in women's shoes and make up. well, ok, great, but let's be sensible. I mean, I'm beginning to think all this gay rights and gay pride is just a political agenda and not really about tolerance, because it doesn't seem to include anyone else but gays and a few select politically correct minority groups. Where is the love and protection for people who are disabled?

haha - like the witty name 'kir'! At the moment Keir Starmer and collegues are talking about this on live video feed, but there has been no clear indication that they intend to police the recommendations

the bus company runs the bus service for profit not for people.
Why did they spend millions on a bus shelter that buses don't go to - i hope none of our taxes paid for it

Thank you for your comment.
It seems that many disabled people are at the forefront of this, because they are the ones who often can't park in the spaces that are supposed to be for them.

It's about time:-) I have a disabled sister who uses a wheelchair so therefore the blue badge has become a god send when parking close to venue's we are trying to access.
It drives me mad when an able bodied person uses the space and jumps out of their car to go about their business, on one occasion I confronted the person and all I got was a mouthfull of verbal abuse saying his mum was disabled yet she was nowhere to be seen. I know you can not leave the badge with the photo showing yet would this not confirm the person using the badge is at least using it and not their LAZY son? I hope they do something about it so that people with a disability get at least one thing thing sorted for them that is not abused by inconsiderate people who should be gratefull they don't or won't ever need the use of one.
